Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
Q. Is it OK to leave the Planket on for the entire Winter? A. No, the Planket is designed to be used only for short periods during overnight frost and light freezes.
Q. Is the Planket waterproof? A. Yes,
the sheets and blankets you are currently using can soak up water and
potentially damage tender plants. The Planket will not.
Q. Do I need to wash the Planket after use. A. Under
normal usage you should not have to wash the Planket. Since it is
cinched to the pot or plant it should not come loose and contact dirt
or mud. If it should become dirty you may wash it but the material is
naturally repellant to dirt.
Q. What temperature will the Planket protect to? A. Unfortunately
there are too many variables to give an exact temperature. It will
depend not only on air temperature but also wind conditions, humidity
and the inherent resistance to cold of the particular plant. Any
prolonged temperatures in the mid to low twenties should necessitate
moving the plant to a warmer location.
Q. How do I know what size Planket to use? A. Measure
from the pot or base of the plant up and over the plant back down to
the pot or base on the opposite side. In general, the 6 ft. unit will
cover a plant 2ft. x 2ft., the 8 ft. unit will cover 3ft. x 3ft., and
the 10ft. unit will cover 4ft. x 4ft.

"The PLANKET is a great product. My geraniums never even felt the
frost! Seriously, they protect so well and it makes so much sense that
they have a drawstring for efficiency. Thanks for the opportunity to
give feedback on a product that's truly a necessity. "
"I bought my first Planket more than a year ago, hoping to prevent some
prized outdoor plants from freezing. The Planket worked just as
promised and I was thrilled to have something to use other than my
sheets and quilts. Since then, I have acquired other sized Plankets and
found great uses for them. I covered my dog house with a Planket to
keep it warmer and dryer during cold, wet weather. I use a Planket to
cover the winshield of my car when there is ice. I use a Planket
"I just googled something like "protect plants frost" and your product
came up. It's really the only thing out there. Lots of articles on
making frames and covering with blankets or plastic, but yours is a
unique product. I'm sure my aloe will appreciate it!"
